  1. Hi Julia,

Thank you for your interest in the project and your insights!

The data was sampled during the COVID-19 pandemic (in November 2020, to be specific).
Participants were recruited via an email with a link to the survey designed, sent through the Psychology department.

Also, that’s an interesting point you have brought up, I think it is more so about students who are more willing to give their two cents, as there were mixed reviews about their connectivity to the Psychology community.

I decided on my measures based on the constructs and patterns I was interested in exploring as well as merging/adding on constructs from previous research in the fields of identity and academic institutions. If I was to run the study again, I think I would like to focus on a few specific variables from this study instead and run a before and after trial, again, because this was an exploratory investigation.

Hope that answers your questions, Julia!

  2. Hello; this is a really interesting project; it’s so cool to see psychological research with a bird’s eye view of the psychology program like this! Your future research section kind of touched on this but I was wondering when the data was sampled (I’m assuming it was before COVID?). Additionally, how did you recruit your participants, picking psych students through SONA, or asking for volunteers? If the latter, might there be some kind of self-selection bias where students who already identify strongly with the program and/or have positive experiences self-select?

As a final question, how did you decide upon your chosen measures, and what additional variable might you measure if you were to run the study again?
